Meet the Contributors
Shannon Kozlovich, PhD
Shannon is the NSVD Communications Coordinator and blog contributor. She holds a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences and works as a tobacco control advocate and program manager for Equality California in Los Angeles. Her earnest desire to save the world had led to many interesting volunteer efforts that she wholeheartedly supports, including this one.
Laüra Gaitan
Laüra is the Volunteer Recruiter for this blog and a contributor, she also coordinates communication between volunteers and members of the NSVD. She is pursuing her PhD in Marine Biology on the ecology of the sponge holobiont in the Caribbean. She is happy to have found this courageous community of hardworking individuals volunteering as heroes in their spare time!
Shruti Muralidhar
Shruti is a Social Media Coordinator at the NSVD. Currently, she works at the Picower Institute at MIT on understanding the role of inhibitory interneurons in learning and memory. She is also the contributing editor and co-founder of an Indian Science Communication collective called IndSciComm, that does scicomm to an Indian audience along with helping Indian and Indian-origin scientists improve their science communication skills. As part of this collective, she writes and helps produce podcasts in multiple Indian languages.
Molly O’Connor

Alexandra Colón-Rodríguez, PhD
Alex is a Social Media Coordinator and Spanish Translator at NSVD. She is currently a postdoc in the B3 Lab at UC Davis where she is focused on science communication and reproductive neurogenomics. Alex’s is very passionate about science outreach and communication, especially for the Iberoamerican communities and that has led her to volunteer her time as a translator mostly in science related topics. Yadira Pérez Páramo, MS
Yadira is a Spanish Translator at NSVD. She is currently a PhD candidate at Washington State University, her research is focused on the pharmacogenetics of nicotine metabolism and addiction. Yadira is passionate about mentoring girls for underserved communities interested in STEM, she is a mentor in the program "Mujeres líderes en STEAM".
